Deadline for jpeg submission is April 1, but Virginia urges you to please send yourjpegs to Karen(at)KarenStiehlOsborn.com as soon as you are able. We don'twant Karen to be forced to spend the entire month of April processing jpegs.EARLY IS GOOD!
We won't be able to grant any extensions this year, so perhaps just pretendthe deadline is March 15 :)

I Wonder Quilt

This is my latest project. It started for the Kinsey exhibit, art exploring sex, gender, sexuality, eroticism, reproduction, romantic relationships, and/or the sensual human figure.

This is the sketch done on tracing paper.
The image is made by appliquéing the shapes with Wonder Under.
Once the body is applied, I added the backgroundThis is my "studio" living room. It is a cozy place to work.
Next will be finishing the quilting.

Winter Break 08 Experimental

An experimental piece for Salvaged Threads.

Check out, salvagedthreads.blogspot.com for more information.

Winter Break 08-Silver Bird

Another thread painting on black silk. The silk is such a pleasure to work with. I found a bunch of it in the basement, stuff I had left over from college costume days.

Winter Break 08 Obama Close Up

This was a misprint when working on my Obama Equals Hope, but I liked the composition so I made a small quilt from the image.

Winter Break 08-Hands

Here are some pieces I worked on over my Winter Break from school.

What a delight to have no where to go and nothing to do but make my art and experiment.
This one is done with variegated thread on silk.
