This is a small, 4.5" x 5" piece I made for a friend.

I traced the image onto freezer paper
and stitched right through the paper and layers to get the image on the fabric.

The tricky part was removing the freezer paper after stitching through it.

Did the same thing with the letters.

Then I filled in the letters with stitching, trimmed and satin stitched the edge.
I love the hand. It is so hard to draw hands! I think I will try the freezer paper technique, too.
